چکیده

Introduction. Feline odontoclastic resorptive lesion (FORL) is one of the most common and painful oral diseases cat. It characterised by tooth resorption due to destructive activity odontoclasts. FORL can result in loss. While aetiology not clearly understood, it thought be multifactorial bacteria are likely play a major role. Hypothesis. Dysbiosis normal feline microbiota leads an alteration commensal populations, which results development FORL. Aim. The purpose current study was determine composition microbiomes associated with health Methodology. Supragingival plaque collected from 25 cats healthy cavity 40 DNA extracted each sample, V4 region 16S rRNA gene amplified polymerase chain reaction amplicons sequenced. Diversity species richness analyses were performed, principal component analysis used explore differences between those FORL, linear discriminant effect size assess groups. Results. six abundant bacterial genera identified Bergeyella , Capnocytophaga, Lampropedia Morexella Porphyromonas Treponema . Two-step cluster data two sub-groups (FORL-1, FORL-2). FORL-2 sub-group very similar group, whilst FORL-1 different both In this analysis, Capnocytophaga ( P <0.001) <0.01) found at significantly lower levels slightly higher level compared sub-groups. Microbial diversity less than group. sp., phosphate-accumulating species, sub-group. Conclusion. distinct that group may influence local calcium-phosphate ratio, could factor bone observed

Human and feline invasive cervical resorptions: the missing link?--Presentation of four cases.

This report describes 4 patients presenting with multiple teeth affected by invasive cervical resorption (ICR). The cases came to our attention between 2006 and 2008; previously, no cases of multiple ICR (mICR) had been reported in Switzerland. Characteristics common to all 4 cases included progression of disease over time, similar clinical and radiographic appearance of lesions, and obscure et...

Magnetic resonance imaging of feline eye

The purpose of this study was to investigate magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of the normal feline eyeand optic nerves using T1-weighted and T2-weighted images. A total of 6 healthy female domestic short haircats age 2-2.5 years and weighing 3.2 ± 0.4 kg were selected. Magnetic resonance imaging data werecollected using GEMSOW (Philips) at a magnetic field strength of 1.5 T. Dorsal, sagittal, a...

Feline leukemia virus and feline immunodeficiency virus.

Ophthalmic manifestations of FeLV or FIV infection can occur in all ocular tissues and may be manifestations of direct viral effects or secondary to viral-related malignant transformation. Additionally, the manifestations of common feline ophthalmic pathogens may be more severe and poorly responsive to therapy because of the immunosuppressive effects of FeLV or FIV infection. Prompt diagnosis o...

Oral Probiotics Alter Healthy Feline Respiratory Microbiota

Probiotics have been advocated as a novel therapeutic approach to respiratory disease, but knowledge of how oral administration of probiotics influences the respiratory microbiota is needed. Using 16S rRNA amplicon sequencing of bacterial DNA our objective was to determine whether oral probiotics changed the composition of the upper and lower airway, rectal, and blood microbiota. We hypothesize...
